Low Cost Design

ISBN: 9788836616657 (PB - E/ IT)

This book is based on a principle, on which the major protagonists of design agree: the best projects are not necessarily those passing by the Patent Office and originating in architecture and design agencies and that are created in front of computers in big companies, but, on the contrary, they are often those coming from the simplicity of everyday life thanks to the smart ideas of "common people", of anonymous designer to whom Bruno Munari dedicated the "Golden compass award to unknown". Starting from this premise, Daniele Pario Perra present in this book the result of a wide survey carried out from Northern Europe to the Mediterranean countries featuring thousands of examples of spontaneous creativity, that are collected in an "applied arts" database. A visula dictionary on the change in the use of objects and of the territory through its inhabitants' action in constant relationship between "poetic ability" and "technologocal ability". The presented ideas, with unknown authors, are classified according to different research levels (five different design levels for objects, six categories for actions) and they offer a hint for reflection on recovery and re-interpretation of waste, but above all they make up, on the whole, a very interesting overview of nowadays, urbanistic and ethnographic prifile. This book therefore makes us part of a transcersal gaze, un-disciplinary, ecletic and heretic, on our everyday life
