L'Indépendance du Congo et ses lendemains

Collection/reeks/series : " Studies in Social Sciences and Humanities ", n° 179

ISBN: 9789492669711 (PB - FR)

Congolese verhalen over 50 jaar onafhankelijkheid. On 30 June 2020, the Democratic Republic of Congo will celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of its independence. For the occasion, the Royal Museum for Central Africa (Tervuren, Belgium) is releasing this book, originally intended to accompany the 2010 temporary exhibition 'Indépendance ! Récits congolais' marking half a century of independence. This book accompanies the launch of an online version of the exhibit, offering thirteen scholarly articles that are presented as they were written a decade ago, but which remain a relevant reflection of the state of knowledge. Tackling historical, political, social, heritage-related and cultural dimensions, the volume is an especially valuable contribution to the analysis of Congo's independence and its consequences past, present, and future.
