Garden Party is a girl powered, nature themed book on the work of Helen Dardik. Her pen-and-ink drawings, predominantly black-and-white with a limited palette of accent colours, are replicated from her sketchbooks. Augmenting the design, this book includes details such as rounded corners, an elastic band, and a ribbon that replicate the look and feel of a sketchbook. Many of her characters are hybrid girl/plant creatures whose friends include a menagerie of cats, dogs, and other critters. In keeping with the theme of the book, hand illustrated quotes from classic novels such as Alice in Wonderland and The Secret Garden are interspersed throughout.
